I seem to have a coolant leak and I want to diagnose with a dye: Amazon Amazon I don't see any Dexcool warnings so I imagine that this is safe with the Porsche OAT coolant? I read that Dexcool is a OAT type coolant, similar to the Porsche coolant. And No, I won't be filling with Dexcool...

Never understood the point in this product for cooling systems. You have to use a UV light and glasses to see the leaks with the dye. But coolant lights up bright as hell on its own with a UV light. I use a similar product for fluids like engine oil, trans, and some p/s systems. never cooling systems. Better off using a pressure tester to find the leak. If you don't own one most of the parts stores rent them. Just make sure you do not exceed the PSI rating on the expansion tank cap.

I really don't know if it's going to cause some long-term effects but I used it in mine to find a leak that neither I nor my shop could pinpoint. It was pretty obvious after letting it run through a bit that it was the radiators. But if your issues are behind the condenser you might not be able to see anything even with the dye. Of course, I didn't try to use a UV light before I put it in so maybe, as Mbren1979 says, it would've shown up with UV light before I did it. Ended up replacing the radiators and replacing all the coolant.
