Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Admittedly, I go 997 4S, but there is just something about the 996 variant with the turbo body and the sound of that engine that smokes the 997 version. mine isn’t as raw as the 996, why did Porsche choose to tone down the 997 version?? i mean look at my photo, where's the red line? i was robbed. my age has caught me at 32 and I forget figures, but does the 996 version have more horse than the 997, it certainly looks that way. what say you re. the best 4S ever? the 997 4S is truly a nod to the 996 variant.
Ferd,
Yes, the 3.8 is standard on the 997 "S" variants. 355 HP on the 997.1 and 385 HP on the 997.2.
The 997.2 cars have the new 9A1 DFI (direct fuel injected) engine, which does NOT have an intermediate shaft!
I love this "plain jane look." No interruptions of the clean and curvaceous lines. Don't change a thing! As you can tell from my avatar, I like the natural back ends.
yup completely concur with all of you, as John Henry displays everything about the 9964S is just meatier - rims, rear end (dont be concerned) front end et al. even the 996 version sounds better than the 997.
i am closing this thread down, many thanks for the analysis.
