I cleaned the old MAF and swapped the cheap one out, now it runs perfect.

I also swapped the water pump but that is unrelated.

I'm replacing ignition coils and plugs but only had 3 of both on hand.

I swapped out some of the plugs and the ignition coils that we're cracked and thought were most problematic, but really I think the source of most of the idle issues are from a maf that I need to replace with a quality part.

I'm replacing ignition coils and plugs but only had 3 of both on hand. Could the other three be responsible for this? Seems like the engine is not getting gas or something.
Just had this problem last weekend. I got a TB code and idle control code as well as MAF code. I unplugged the MAF and TB and replied them in and cleared the codes and it ran fine.
My problem was I bought an aftermarket maf hoping to save a couple bucks and for some reason the car just won't accept it. The company is called MTC and a complete wast of money, imo. Just seems like such a simple part that I thought an off brand would do the job...
Scan the ECU before you start assuming anything. Then start testing the parts the ECU thinks are the problem. Don't start throwing parts at it.
Also, was this problem there fore you started working on it? If not, more than likely what you did caused it.
There are a few random misfires and I noticed leaking down two of the plug holes. I swapped out some of the plugs and the ignition coils that we're cracked and thought were most problematic, but really I think the source of most of the idle issues are from a maf that I need to replace with a quality part.
Just now I cleaned the old Bosch maf and put it back in and runs better than before, probably with the new coils and plugs installed. I also swapped the water pump but that is unrelated.
Moral of the story. Porsche hates cheap parts!
At work we get all kinds of aftermarket parts. Sometimes you just want to smash your head against the wall. One of my most favorites is by a company called

Amen to that! I've never owned such picky cars in my lifetime. Simple things like expansion tanks with updated blue caps, OEM water pumps with plastic impellers instead metal ones, the RMS "fix", Factory sensor this, sensor that.... on and on it goes.
