Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I know this won't help for the 3.6 , but for the 3.4 installed height is 1.340, seat psi 50lbs, open psi@.940 125psi, coil bind .875.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I`m looking for valve spring install height or pressure for my m96/03 heads. I do now that there is no official spec from Porsche. The vale seats are recut and valve`s regrind. But i did`t measure before head work. If there is some one that have a head off and it haven't ben recut and can take that measurement.I would really appreciate that to. I`m rebuilding the engine with niksail sleeve from Hartech in UK and wssner pistons. Mats T

POST 2Original post

If you have a slight height difference from valve seat re grind, the hydraulic lifters should adjust to this I would imagine, I would recommend using new lifters and new hydraulic chain tensioners in your build , maybe others will chime in to confirm

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It`s spring pressure that i`m concerned about, when measuring intake and exhaust with my current install height I got 50 lbs/ 22 kilo and at 10mm lift 130lb/ 59kilo on exhaust which i think is low. Intake 80lbs/36kilo and at 10mm lift 190lbs/86kilo.

I know this won't help for the 3.6 , but for the 3.4 installed height is 1.340, seat psi 50lbs, open psi@.940 125psi, coil bind .875. You could call Hartech and ask, they are more likely to give up specs than FSI.. I doubt you cut enough off the seat and valve to make a difference, if you did, you or your machinist should know. usually only takes a couple thou the clean them up. As far as spring pressure, you could always just buy 1 intake and 1 exhaust spring and use that as a reference to compare all the other old springs.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
