Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I drove a 2k Boxster S a few years ago that had this quite loud banging sound from the rear. I assumed maybe a strut or motor mount. This year, I bought an 03 doing the same thing. They drive just fine. I have a 13' pit in my garage, got under it, looked and probed everywhere and could find nothing loose. Can anyone point me to the problem? I'm thinking it must be a common problem if I hit 2 that did it. I have not pulled the shield under the front motor mount yet though.

Thank you very much for the reply. Are these used on both rear and front? The video I found was for front but my noise is in the rear. Are the rubber inserts available to rebuild them?

POST 4Original post

I have the same problem on my 2002 Boxster S. Please let me know the outcome.
