When the engine reaches operating temperature the electrical shuts down. It starts up normally after cooling for a couple of hours. Not overheating

Ok I’ll play. Shuts down as in the car goes completely dark, engine stops, no dash lights, no head/parking lights, doesn’t turn over when you cycle the key. Or the engine shuts down but other systems stay functional?

Crank position sensor would be first suspect. When this happens does the tac needle jump a little when you try to restart? If that happens may not be CPS. What codes do you get?

when i try to restart all lights, radio come on but dead to the starter. i don't have a code reader but the crank was reset when they fixed the water pump

When you try to restart, the starter doesn’t turn at all? Crank reset? Replaced water pump. Who replaced the water pump, how long ago, why, did it over heat? Did they remove the engine? Can you expand on “crank reset”? Has the ECU been flashed. What other recent repair history can you tell us about? When this happens do you have power at the distribution box in the engine compartment? Also check the engine ground underneath the car by the right rear wheel. How new is the battery? What voltage is showing on the volt meter when it is running?
