Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I also tested the engine compartment blower and it works fine.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Here is my situation... 1999 Porsche 911 C4
I went to the race-track and overheated the car... after that when I started the car when it is cold the temp pointer is pinned to the right and the light blinks slowly, but after a little bit of driving the temp pointer reads temp accurately and light turned off.
After completing the following "fixes" when I start car cold the light blinks fast and the temp pointer is to the right, but after a little bit of driving the temp pointer reads temp accurately and the light blinks slowly. If I start the car warm the only thing that happens is the light blinks slowly.
To fix the initial issue I did the following:
Replaced the coolant tank,
Replaced the reservoir CAP with the black one
Replaced the coolant level sensor
Replaced the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
I also tested the engine compartment blower and it works fine.
My only guess is that the wiring on the coolant level sensor is broken. When I replaced the tank I noticed the old one was not mounted in the car and was able to flop around.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Thanks... sounds like a typical user error issue... looks like I need to get it professionally flushed... my home done gravity flush may have left some air pockets. I'll keep you posted,
You can get a vacuum bleeder that gets the job done. I have a low end tool from Amazon, but if I were to do it over, I'd have purchase a uview airlift.
Open the burp valve and drive the car, that helps get air out of the system.
When the car is up to temp, and it idles are the lower rad hoses hot?, if not good chance you have air lock.
Switch off you air con and let the car idle up to temp with the burp valve open, the fans should come on, blip the throttle to 5,000 rpm a few times and let it settle and idle, let it cool and top up the coolant. Repeat and you shouldd be able to get all of the air out of the system. Keep an eye on the temp gauge and dont let it overheat during the process.
Based on your input above.....I would think this is an electrical issue, not mechanical. It appears you threw the kitchen sink at it. What does the manual say about a blinking light?
Are you trying to fix the temperature gauge or an overheating issue? If the temperature gauge, you need to plug into your car with a Durametric and scan it and look at what the DME sees for a temperature and if there are any fault codes.
If you are trying to fix an overheating problem, then air could be in your system. What were your symptoms of overheating?
No overheating problem... I did buy the uview airlift to give vacuum bleeding a shot. Any excuse to buy a new tool
But alas if that doesn't solve the problem I will get it into a shop for diagnosis. I try so hard to be a do-it-yourselfer, but sometimes you need to lean on professionals.
Thanks for all the assistance. I have my marching orders.
