Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

So I can not get this top light to go away, it stays on if its up or down. I have read a couple things about it like holding the button 5-10seconds longer than it takes to go up or down. Ive also checked the fluid and thats fine. Suggestions? Thank you in advance!!

I'd guess you have something in the cycle of opening/closing that isn't finishing. It could be the top or clamshell not closing completely, or perhaps just one of the microswitches isn't being triggered when it should. Given that it happens for both the opening and closing sequence, my first guess would be the "completely closed" microswitch on the clamshell, or one of the "flaps" that rotate into position on either side. First thing to check... Is the clamshell *completely* closed? Are the flaps *completely* rotated into position?

Yes it closes completely and everything rests as it should.

POST 4Original post

could be a bad microswitch on the clamshell closing mechanism, or a bad microswitch on one of the flaps.
