Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I can not lock the doors, and arm the alarm system until the interior lights go out. In this car it is 34 seconds. So you open the door, and the lights come on. You then stand outside the car for 34 seconds, You wait for the lights to go out and then set the alarm. 34 seconds is not a long time, but If it was raining, that would be a very long wait. Is this normal, and can it be adjusted to a shorter time? Never had a vehicle that would make you wait to set the alarm

POST 2Original post

It is not normal....you should not have to wait for any lights to dim to lock the car.

POST 3Original post

Doesn't sound right to me - doors should be able to lock first and lights should dim later. It sounds like you may have something else going on - a micro-switch that's bad or not making proper contact that's keeping the car from locking properly. Good luck

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Several weeks ago I changed all the interior light bulbs to LED. It seems that if either map light lights are on, the system will not arm until all the lights go off in 34 seconds. If I flip the switches so they are not on, everything works as it should. The center dome light does not cause a problem even though it is also a LED. It is a different bulb than the map lights. So the map lights are interfering with the alarm system. I replaced both of the door marker lights with the same LED as the map lights, and they don't cause a problem.
