D6lc, I had a similar problem with another connector and ended up buying a cheap used harness off eBay.

My Indi got a set for much less but I don't know his source.

Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Many connectors arent available in the PET however there are quite a few that are shared across VW, Audi, there are even reports of BMW and Mercedes connectors!

Looks like three conductors to me (the ECS one is only two)... Try looking for #'s on it. I'm sure you'll find something that'll work, but some of these connectors are very difficult to source (I've been trying to find one of the Litronic connectors for years)...

I super glued them but I also bought another pair. Haven't tried the newly super glued one! I'll keep everyone posted when I finally test it out!

Yes and no, I wanted to make my own harness. The plug into the car is available as a VW part but the bulb holder made by hella can't be bought (I searched for a long time).

that looks very close to it, can I ask where you found that one, I was on the Ipad last night looking for connector images and couldn't find anything close
I think I literally googled porsche 996 cam sensor connector.
Also, if you have not done this stuff before, instead of splicing the wires you can get a cheap tool kit to remove the wires and put them in the new connector.
