Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I can press down on the top in that area and eliminate the rattle as I'm driving along but I cannot see a way to tighten anything up.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My '02 C2 Cab rattles from the top of the driver's side A pillar. I can press down on the top in that area and eliminate the rattle as I'm driving along but I cannot see a way to tighten anything up. One post suggested it was loose torx screws holding the sun visor but not in my case. Any suggestions where to look?? (Things are a lot quieter if I just drive with the top down all the time!)

POST 2Original post

Check to see that the tab that slides into the headerr has the plastic cover on it. look at this thread. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...op-rattle.html And this one https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...djustment.html

Thanks, fpb111! Will check to see if those plastic covers are there.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I checked this morning, and the plastic cover is missing from the driver's side lug, which is called a Centering Journal. The plastic cover is not available as a separate part, so I had to spend $50 to purchase the centering journal with cover for the driver's side. It's certainly worth the $50, to me, to quiet that rattle, but it's a shame that $1 part isn't available separately as it was at one time!

POST 5Original post

You could probably put a few coats of plasti-dip on the lug and achieve the same thing. It would be worth a try.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I already ordered the part, but that's a great idea for next time!
