Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Oh, also, don't underestimate those used car dealers.

Looks like Manheim New England does not yet have their Pre-sale run list published for next Thursday, March 10th.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

No they are being upfront about it saying engine is damaged. Who knows though some knuckle head who doesn't understand 996 motors may take a chance on it. I think the scariest scenario would be someone buys it and flips it to an unsuspecting buyer. It is running fine at the moment.
Don't suppose there is anyway we you can get the VIN from it? I think it should be spread far and wide so that any potential future buyers know it's history and can hopefully avoid being burned if it isn't repaired correctly (which I doubt it will be, especially if they get their reserve).
Looks like Manheim New England does not yet have their Pre-sale run list published for next Thursday, March 10th. I'll keep an eye on it and post what I find out. It will show VIN on the auction listing.
Oh, also, don't underestimate those used car dealers. They may not look like geniuses, but they know cars and the market. The knuckleheads don't last long in the business. The BMW dealer got screwed because it was lazy and the employees don't give a crap (except, maybe the used car manager). But, the small lot guys aren't going to be that way because it's their own money.
LOL. This is from the series of "Car runs fantastic, but overheats after 5 minutes. Could be something minor, but I am not a mechanic and don't have time to investigate" & "Car drives strong and runs fantastic, great interior. One little issues is that reverse gear is out. Would make for a great car for someone who drives a lot on the freeway or someone who doesn't need to use reverse to park."
Wow that brings up memories
I remember those boys from their first support gig in the USA, opening for Ozzy at Pine ****.
We were completely blown away when they started to play and a great bunch of kids to be on tour with. Rick is a great guy.
Does anyone have more details about this auction/ where to follow the results? I assume if it is a Meineke auction that it will not be open to the general public?

I am certain this is the car. Blue over tan 2004 C4S, 53k miles, cab, 6 speed, for sale by a BMW dealership at Manheim New England on Tuesday, 3/8/16. Interestingly, there is no Condition Report for the car, which would give the car a number grade for condition and would disclose the engine problem. most cars have them for benefit of Internet bidders. Also, I see no announcements listed for the car, which is the other place you would note the engine problem.

Hi guys, I am new to this forum, and new to the search for a Porsche. I have dreamed of owning one for longer than I care to admit, and with the last child out of college last week, I am finally in a position to start my search. My question to you all is this: I came across the car mentioned in this thread on Car Gurus, and with the VIN search came up with this thread. I see that it started 2 years ago, is there any update to the motor problems mentioned here? I haven't been able to come up with any updates. Aside from the mention of the interior choices, is there anything else you have come up with in your search? Thanks in advance!
Interesting. What is the current mileage? If it is still around 53k, that would be a huge flag that it still has major issues. It's possible someone did the necessary work in the past two years to adress the issues, but I would be very leery.
I googled the VIN because my curiosity got the best of me. I see a dealer in NY has it and it only has 3k miles more than it did 2 years ago. There is no detail about the condition of the car on their web site. They are also asking 31k, so it is no bargain. Run away from this one.
The ad states mileage is 56,701 miles. The carfax is available for it, but it isn't free. Before I start looking deeper into it I wanted to get as much info as is currently available from those who know more about its past.
No one knows...Run Forrest, run!
Carfax is not an expensive tool to have, it can give you a general idea of service history and potential issues, but it's not 100% accurate.
What do you mean by "leads"? Are you looking for help finding a similar car to the one in question? If so, what exactly are your wants? I've helped find a couple others their cars but can't find my own...yet!
Yes, I am looking for a car similar in year and features to the one mentioned in this thread. Definitely a Cab, and ideally I would like the C4 S features, but the "S" part isn't a must. Thanks!
