Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My point exactly, but the problem is a distributor unhappines because they don't get to wet their beak concern, which is understandable, that is why I contacted EVO directly to organize it to try and allieviate this concern but too much stink was raised and EVO must have time to weigh all the interest and come up with a fair deal for everyone, which is understandable.
Leading evidence: 'distributor unhappines' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Suggestion
The Carrera Powerkit from Porsche changes heads, cams, exhaust manifolds along with some other stuff for an advertised 25 hp gain.

Unsuccessful attempt
I installed a similar looking induction on a 280ZX Turbo and went back to stock after noticing no improvement........
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I going to put a new intake on my 1999 996 and I was wondering if I should buy the new evolution intake or fabspeed intake. Has anyone tried both. I know the evo intake is new and read a thread recently praising it but is it worth the extra $370($250 with new air filter). Evo claims a 10-12 gain in power and Fabspeed claims 25% increase in airflow. Right now I am set on the evolution intake. Are there any other intakes that are highly recommended.
I purchased the fabspeed and removed and replaced it back with the stock (my car actually went slower in the 1/4 mile with it), waiting to order the evo (they say they are on backorder) and give it a try.
i think that was the older evolution motorsports intake. i've heard that at speed it was good but in stop and go it wasn't. during stop and go, performance was degraded due to the engine heat. it wasn't fully shielded where version 2 is.
FWIW, Excellence magazine did an article on the 996 a year or so ago and concluded the car does not realize any significant gains from bolt-on type modifications. The Carrera Powerkit from Porsche changes heads, cams, exhaust manifolds along with some other stuff for an advertised 25 hp gain. If there were good gains to be had through bolt-ons, I would think Porsche would have taken that route.
The K&N style air cleaner is either the greatest thing since canned beer or the devil incarnate, depending on who you talk to. Nay sayers feel the filter may not screen out the finest particulates, promoting premature engine wear.

I have both EVO intakes instock as of today. We will be more then happy to give you butt dyno results via phone. Let me know. We have run them in several cars with happy customers.
why? It's in the best interests of the members to get it from the source regardless of if the middleman is a sponsor. A better approach then is to organize the group buy on 6 speed where evo is in fact a sponsor and achieve both ends.
well nothing is gonna happen until SOMEONE steps up and actually talks to the seller. ain't gonna be me cause i already have one
i can see evo discounting to a point otherwise he will **** off his distributors/retailers. can't build a business relationship if you undercut the retailers (kinda what happened with the supercharger group buy)
on the other hand, dan from vivid racing can discount the intakes and evo shouldn't care cause they're still making their money. vivid will just have to eat the smaller margins.
I hear you on the aforementioned and did a post on 6 speed addressing a way to go around all this to maximize the best interest of the members Period.

Ok boys...Here's the deal. I spoke to Dan @ Vivid racing. He said that if we got a good group, he could knock $25-40 off each unit. The question is - How many do we really have that would be commited? So from this point on, post here if you are in:

Hopefully we can make this happen guys.
