Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm looking to replicate that typical 911/964/993 with RSR rumble at idle rather than noise at WOT. What's your experience with the PSE 2002-2004 exhaust gents?
PSE is awesome, if you want the air cooled sound of ye' old times, its the right place to look.
better sound across the RPM range, no claimed power gain, but since its OEM you can be sure it doenst lose any
I was running an AutoX today at the Meadowlands.
Being the kind fellow I am I left the PSE in loud mode. At the end someone came over and waxed lyrical about what a fantastic sound the car has when on the gas
PSE vs 993 stock, PSE is gutsier and louder from idle to WOT. The 993 with the motor sound option is distinct from the 996 with PSE sound. Side by side, at idle, you can hear a difference. Neither louder, just different. The 993 otional motor sound to me sounds more metallic, the PSE more sonorous.
Have not had a chance to compare under accleration, since I'm usually in the cockpit on the track. Today was the first time I heard PSE under WOT as a bystander. I'm introducing my wife to autocross, and the 987S is not yet broken in, so I had her drive the C4S. If you think the PSE is great in the cockpit, wait 'til you hear it outside in the wide open parking lot of an autocross track. It's absolutely glorious!!
Thanks guys. That's what I needed to push me to another mod. What stimulated this was my 17 y.o. learning to drive both the 993 and 996 back to back and finding it easier on the former because of the pronounced motor sound on the 993. Said we would have to 'fix' that. And we will.
I would second the louder sound making it easier to drive in stop an go traffic. It is much easier to hear what the engine is doing without having to watch the tach. With the PSE off, you can barely hear the motor at low RPM's. It is much louder than the stock, but does sound good.
I finally installed the switch and use it most every days in my neighborhood, but do turn it off once I am on the road. The switch took me about 3-4 hours to install and was worth the effort IMO. I also use it alot if I am on the phone or having a conversation with a passenger. I do have a Cab, so the coupe might be a little quieter inside with the windows up.
To answer the first post, it definitely sounds better when you start the car or blip the throttle at low RPM's.
Either way, you will love the mod.

OK, OK, OK, UNCLE, he cried!
Ordered the PSE from Brandywine today, Tony was great to deal with. Should be here in less than 5 days by FedEx. Really looking forward to making this 996 sound 'right'.
Thanks for all your feedback guys.
