Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

If you haven't done too much used car shopping recently though, just want to remind you not to get too enamored with options and pay a premium for them, particularly aftermarket ones even if they ARE Porsche.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys/Gals,
I'm going to make the move from 964 ownership to 996 and would like to know if the car that I am considering is a worthy buy, and roughly what I should be paying!
It's a 2002 Carerra 2, 40K miles, Gemballa sports suspension, carbon fibre bonnet, aero kit, 18" split rims, FPSH and under warrenty (extended), the guy has also gone to town a bit on the intereior but its all porsche kit. On the engine he has a cone added and has put a full sports exhaust on it, he reckons it's kicking out about 340 bhp, does this sound right?
The car also comes with all the original parts.
Apologies for the ignorance, but I'm coming from the dark ages in terms of 911 ownership!
Any advice, info would be much appreciated... pic as my avatar!
Jesse - afraid I can't help you much with the price as just thinking about the exchange rate makes me sad
However, you might have some luck with these UK guys over at
porsche-1.net
.
I think it's a great looking car (based upon your small avatar) and the extended warranty is a big plus. 340bhp sounds a bit enthusiastic for just intake & exhaust, but I'm a bit conservative when it comes to such things.
Be sure to get a pre-purchuse inspection before you fall too much in love with it though. IMHO - this is mandatory.
Hope it works out for you and we see you on this side of the forum

Can't help you much across the pond when it comes to prices. If you haven't done too much used car shopping recently though, just want to remind you not to get too enamored with options and pay a premium for them, particularly aftermarket ones even if they ARE Porsche. They are nice to have, but they should not increase the purchase price that much.
Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm actualy looking to purchase this in a week when I move to Dubai - the price is 215,000 DHS or 32,000 GBP to the UK guys and around $50,000 US.
Cars are cheaper over there as the local owners love to play a game of one up manship, hence the mods - the roads aren't that great off the main stretches but I think I can live with getting my fillings knocked out.... need about four more now having had the 964
I think I'm just gonna go for it at this price, it seems crazy not too.....
Is there anything crucial I should be looking for in the pre-purchase?
PS: looking forward to coming to this side of the forums too - should be able to give some good extreme heat feedback!!
