Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I am not certain how to adjust for an untitled can that is almost 2 years old.
Leading evidence: 'Adjust untitled can' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust untitled can' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello Board.....two questions...1} is the new Targa in the 997 series coming out soon or will it ever????? and 2} looked at an 04 Targa MSRP 84K with options and discounting on it 12K...good deal or not???? thanks board for your always great opinions and great spring driving to everyone !!!!!!
I had an 04 Targa (and a 993 Targa) and took great interest in whether there would be a 997 Targa. The 997 roofline is unchanged from 996; therefore, its easy to adapt the 997 for a Targa. As minimal as the 996 Targa sales were (suggesting there would be no more in the future), based upon comments I have seen (but no inside knowledge), my bet is that we will see a 997 Targa at some point as Porsche expands the line, as they have in the past.
I assume that's a new untitled 04 Targa you are talking about. I bought my 04 Targa new in March, 2004. I got 10K off MSRP at the time. Targas have not been big sellers. The 06's will be out in 3-4 months. It's basically a 2 year old car when you drive it off the lot. I don't think thats a good deal. I don't know if its true or not, but I heard somewhere that Porsche is giving incentives to dealers to clear out 996 inventory. I'd be angling for a much larger discount, I'd think minimum 15K and, if there are in fact incentives, probably 20K off MSRP.
I fell in love with the 997S on launch day and traded my Targa after 5 months. But I still love them and think they are a great concept. After 3 years driving a Boxster S top down 99% of the time, I got tired of driving a cab, and found the Targa a nice cross between coupe and cab.
No, I don't think that is a good deal. Depending on the make a model of a car, in general, there is approximately 15% to 20% depreciation per year. 18% depreciation would be $15 K (in your example) which would be $69 K. The '06 997 will be out in 4 months so you can then count on another 18% depreciation, only this time off of the new base value of $69 K, which is another $12 K.
The above assumes normal depreciation, as in a car that has been purchased and driven for those two years. I am not certain how to adjust for an untitled can that is almost 2 years old. I bought '04 996 C2 with 6,450 miles on it 8 weeks ago. Sticker was $81.5 new, I paid $64 K, which is about 22 % off original sticker. Hope this helps!
I agree, that's not a particularly good deal. I bought my Targa new in Dec. Sticker was 91,350. I got it for 77K. I would see if you can get them lower. I heard any Targa line for the 997 may be quite a while. Good luck, if you get it, you'll love it.
I agree, low 70s or upper 60s is the "good deal" zone. Here's a pic and some info on the possible 997 Targa:
