Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My '02 C4 Cab doesn't smoke on a regular basis during normal driving, but I've noticed that after an oil change it tends to smoke upon startup if it hasn't been driven for a few days. A more serious concern is the repeatability of substantial - completely fill the rearview mirror w/ smoke - type of episode that also takes place during a period after an oil change: After a sustained, hard 15 min climb from ~5,500' to ~7,000', I get to the final stretch of steep climb (2nd gear, pulling hard ~6k rpm) boom! The smoke starts billowing out. I keep driving, and as long as I don't push too hard w/ the gas pedal it stops, otherwise it's instant-on smoke city. I've been told it takes only a few drops of oil to generate this type of smoke screen, so I assumed after my oil change it's to the brim and the combination of a steep climb and high rpm's cause some to squirt out somewhere. Can someone tell me if this is normal, or if I need to be concerned? The car checks out 100% fine by my mechanic. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Where is Tim? You still have your car for 3 days! C'mon! Ok, I'll do it this time -> DAFS.png Bah, I did the search. https://rennlist.com/forums/search.php?searchid=2867862 As it turns out, the typical situation has been discussed many, many times. It's just a little oil, and does not affect the car. -td [not being a jerk, we just like to poke fun of the non-searchers ]
