Suggestion

For a street car.....nothing wrong with just doing springs (get correct ones for your body/model/year)......for performance, coilovers is the route to go, so that you have full adjust to set height, rake, corner balance.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, How long does the stock suspension of a c4s last? I dont drive hard, it's got 17xxx miles on it, daily drive. thinking about getting an aftermarket suspension or just the springs... Any thoughts are appreciated! john

POST 2Original post

Just replaced my stock suspension at 42k miles and it had plenty of life left. I just wanted to try the USA M030 and I'm glad I did, big improvement.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

how about changing just the springs... im more for the look and my budget is not that high.

POST 4Original post

The labor to swap out springs will probably cost as much as springs and struts/shocks($396 for labor).I think many would advise not changing just springs without doing the shocks/struts at the same time.GL Exo.

POST 5Original post

Glad to hear you like M030! How's the ride working out for you?

I'd guess 40-60K and the struts are gone (and of course could fail before). No reason to do springs unless your goal is modding the car (read 'lower'). For a street car.....nothing wrong with just doing springs (get correct ones for your body/model/year)......for performance, coilovers is the route to go, so that you have full adjust to set height, rake, corner balance. $396 is a steal if you can find someone to work that cheap. Add alignment after you are done.
