I know by the drivers side A-Pillar I can get it around there because the end of the dash can pop off, but I don't want to install it on that side as its hard to use your right hand to push buttons while your driving across your body (especially if your right handed).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am interested in hardwiring my Nuvi 350, and would like to position it in the center of the dash. It looks like there is an airvent there, and possibly a way to put a cable down the back but its very tight. There is also the LED alarm light in that area as well. Does anyone know of a way to fish a wire thru that part of the car? Once I can get it down below the dash I am golden, I just have to figure how to get it from the top of the dash to below. I know by the drivers side A-Pillar I can get it around there because the end of the dash can pop off, but I don't want to install it on that side as its hard to use your right hand to push buttons while your driving across your body (especially if your right handed). Any ideas?

POST 2Original post

Pop the cover off the LED for the alarm, you can easily drop a wire right there. I have my GPS antenna under it.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the quick reply. I thought maybe that would work, I will have to find a spot so that it doesn't bulge with the wire underneath, didn't look like there was a gap. I assume I can just use a flat head screwdriver to pop this thing off?

POST 4Original post

Corect. you could always dremel a small hole for the wire.
