I have set my heart on having the PSE installed (with switch as I use the car for work) anyone out there selling one or know where a good deal can be had?

Installing with the PSE switch can be a bit of a bugger, as u need to run wires, etc.

Happy New Year,
I have just spent the last few hours reading through this forum, fantastic source of useful info for a 911 virgin like me!
I am based in Surrey, UK... any other UK locals on here?
I picked up my 996 C2 in Ocean blue with grey leather and factory Aero kit the week before Christmas.....I love it!
I have set my heart on having the PSE installed (with switch as I use the car for work) anyone out there selling one or know where a good deal can be had? I assume finding one at a good price then getting an independant to install would be the most economical way?
Any ideas how to cure the seemingly common rattles in the roof area?
Even with the heater/ac unit off there appears to be a noisy fan in the passenger side of the dashboard, any ideas?
Is this "orange" cap mod worth doing to improve the lovely induction sound? Can I do this without the orange cap using some alternative material?
When I first start her up from cold there is a nasty rattle from the exhaust for a couple of seconds, any ideas?

Congrats Nick.
Definetely get the PSE, what a difference.
No clue on the rattles and noisy fan, maybe someone else can help, or just take it to the workshop and have them look at it.
From past airbox mods to a Golf GTI, I would stay away from these mod's, no performance gain, just minor sound gains. Once you put the PSE, you will not need any more sound, it is pretty loud! Installing with the PSE switch can be a bit of a bugger, as u need to run wires, etc. through the whole car, I don't have it and am happy without it.
Sort out the exhaust rattle, when you install the new PSE mufflers.

You say roof rattles, do you have a cab or a sunroof?
Is the fan noisy when you put a/c or heater on or noisy all the time?
Exhaust rattles are common especially in older models. An aftermarket exhaust is the only
way to go. I have Fabspeed Maxflow but theres quite a few others to choose from although
in the UK you are limited. The orange cap thing IMHO is a waste of time. You have "the" car
of your dreams so why turn it into a chav mobile. Get a sport exhaust and hear the engine sing!

Congratulations! I have a friend in Surrey who has a 993 but I don't think he lurks on here - maybe I should introduce him...
Don't know about the other rattles but I hav the PSE (I agree, if you are using it daily then get the switch) and I hear a certain 'looseness' for a few seconds on startup. I kinda like it though...
