For the street I run the fronts on full soft and the rear one click firmer than full soft and the ride is not too bad.

I run mostly on a short/tight track and just not happy with the handling.

I've got PSS9's on my 996, which I used for open track driving and autocrosses last year.

I like the PSS9s because it is very easy to adjust from street to track.

Set realistic expectations about trying to set fastest times with a 996 so as to keep you from dumping allot of money trying to make it handle on a tight course.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Anyone running with these set-ups? What are your thoughts on it? I want an upgrade for my C2. So far, I'm dissapointed with the handling of the car with US M030 on the track. My car is generally a weekend vehicle that see's 6-8 track days per year on a tight/short 3/4 mile road course. I also do an occasional solo 2 here and there.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

Shoot for the PSS9's. Infinite adjustablility and great for tuning for a tight course. The best price on these I have foundwas at

($1899). Good luck.

How do you like your set-up, pss-9 and gt3 bars? I'm leaning towards getting PSS-9 but not sure of the bars. Did you try it without the bars first? What type of track do you run on, autocross or DE's? I run mostly on a short/tight track and just not happy with the handling. The all wheel drive cars, STI's and EVO's, dominate the our road course. But of course most of them have upgraded suspensions and R compound tires. Funny, a stock ZO6 driver and myself can barely keep up with those guys, and another track prepped ZO6 runs neck to neck but still manages to get beat by a few of them. I'm hoping they'll open the race series up to the 1.3 mile course.
I track the car and do some auto crosses. I like the PSS9s because it is very easy to adjust from street to track. For the street I run the fronts on full soft and the rear one click firmer than full soft and the ride is not too bad.
The GT3 bars work well because they are adjustable front and rear. Play with the bars and struts enough and you will find a combination of settings that will serve you well in most situations.
Some costs that you may not have anticipated. I have a set of scales so corner balancing does not cost me anything but it will be an expense. Also, with GT3 bars you will need adjustable drop links in the front. Hope this helps.
I've got PSS9's on my 996, which I used for open track driving and autocrosses last year. The suspension works very well on the race track and tries its best on the autocross. The 996 is not a good platform for getting the fastest autocross times. It understeers too much and this is with 1.5 deg neg camber up front and R compound tires. Your 3/4 mile track is like a big autocross so you car will be compromised there too. Set realistic expectations about trying to set fastest times with a 996 so as to keep you from dumping allot of money trying to make it handle on a tight course. You'll notice that there aren't any 996's winning at the SCCA Solo 2 nationals. That said, the combination of PSS9's and GT3 sway bars works very well to improve the handling of the 996. You should also consider that the stock 996 seats are terrible for autocross and fast open track use. You loose allot of time trying to stay in the seat. Think about upgrading to the euro GT3 seat, which bolts in nicely without allot of fuss.
I could not agree more. The reason that I only do the occasional autox is that the car is simply not in its element. Soon after I bought my 996, I took it to an autox and was very disappointed. Lots of pushing and not enough power to bring the rear end around with the speed and control necessary at an autox.
The next weekend I took it to Summit Point and could not stop smiling. I am now setting the car up for OneLap. GT3 adjustable lower control arms and 2.5 degrees of front camber should help make my smile even wider.
You're right, I was surprised how poorly the 996 performed at Solo 2. The time trials on the 3/4 mile roadcourse was more enjoyable, chicane, off camber turn, fast sweeper, and hair pin turn. At least I was able to ring out 3rd on the straight away before the hairpin. Just hoping they'll let us play on the 1.3 mile course soon. Thanks for the help guys.
