Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2000 996 and today when I tried to put the top down it wouldn't go and the indicator light in the dash flashes four times. I fear the worst that a new top motor may be needed.

POST 2Original post

Are all connection points unfastened so that you can by hand feel the slack and are the weather seals not sticking making too much drag for the motors? Do the rar windows have to be down? Maybe some sensor is wrong. I know after a year of being gone Isome things just get fogotten like having a bikes kick stand up before putting a bike in gear even with the clutch in or the bike cuts out. Uh duh wasn't me

POST 4Original post

Make sure the emergency brake is on then try it. Check hydraulic fluid GL
