Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'll check back with the dealer as well now that I have a better clue on them (cab only).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've seen a 996 with rear seat inserts (a third piece) that goes between the lower seat cushion and the upper back-rest cushion. This made it a complete seat - covering the lower back area that is just carpeting. Anyone else heard of this? Are they made by Porsche? The parts dept. in Honolulu leaves a little to be desired - they're not much help in this (this is typical of all service in Hawaii - but that's another story...).
My '99's back seats have never been sat in and look brand new. They are in black supple. Hell, even the front seats look brand new - not the typically "stretched" look of the worn supple leather. I think it would be awesome to have complete rear seats instead of the standard stock look with carpeting. My son rides in the back and honestly this is mostly for his comfort, nothing more.
Anyone know of this upgrade?
The piece you're referring to is part of the cab rear seats, not coupes. The rear seat back in cabs tilts forward (because of the folding top), and it seems the third piece is to make the seats more comfortable than they'd be without it.
These are one of the spots I've seen - the lower seat cushions are out, but the middle piece is in. Yes it is a cab, obviously. I didn't think that it might be a cab-only thing. I hope they would still be available and fit in my coupe.
Just like the seat bottoms they just velcro in...they should work. See if there is a cab owner in the Aloha state that can take one a out to see if it will fit you car.
Thanks. I'll check back with the dealer as well now that I have a better clue on them (cab only). I think they look really nice as a complete continuous seat in the rear.
I came really close to buying a cab, except that the UV is so nuts here in Hawaii I figured I would have the top up most of the time anyway and all that sum damage on the top and interior just didn't sound exciting.

Any luck finding those inserts? Got a part # from your dealer? I am interested in doing the same thing to my '99 996 C2 Coupe. Let me know if you do. I'll check with my nearest dealer as well.
