I thought 18" sport design wheels used a 65 offset in the rear.
Leading evidence: 'Use 65 offset in the rear' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check around the air valve stem' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Did you check around the air valve stem to ensure the figure?

You should fine if you are running 225/40's in front and 265/35's.

The wheels I am currently running are 18" sport design and I have found that the offset is 50 front/52 rear, does anyone know if this is the correct offset for these wheels?

I have seen a narrow body car running turbo wheels with a rear 50mm offset and they definitely stick out.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello all,
I'm looking at some new wheels.
From the wheel offset calculator it is saying I will have 11mm less inner clearance in front, 8mm less inner clearance in the rear. Will this be a problem?
The wheels I am currently running are 18" sport design and I have found that the offset is 50 front/52 rear, does anyone know if this is the correct offset for these wheels?
New wheels will be 8" front with 55 offset, 10" rear with 50 offset.
Thanks in advance.
The fronts you WILL need a spacer or they will be sucked in further than your current wheels (by 5mm). The rears are like having a 15mm spacer on your current 65offset wheels. IMHO that is pushing it for sticking out to far. Some people put 17mm spacers on the rear but it all depends on your level of taste.
What size tires are you running? You should fine if you are running 225/40's in front and 265/35's. 5mm is about .2", so you probably won't notice a difference in the front and don't need a spacer. If you go with a wider tire in back, it will stick out. I have seen a narrow body car running turbo wheels with a rear 50mm offset and they definitely stick out. You are moving out about .6". The wheels you are looking at are most likely for a 993, not a 996 narrow body.
You can fit a 18x9.0" wheel with a 235/40 tire in front with stock bodywork. This moves the edge of the tire .35" more in with the stock offset or about twice the offset change you are looking at. The rear is a different story. There is plenty of room to go in and not out. Never the less, you can easily fit an 18x11 with a 295/30 tire with the stock 65mm offset which also moves the edge of the tire .35" in both directions. You are looking at about twice that change.
Woody - the link below contains a lot of the questions you asked and many of the problems associated with getting the wrong rear offset on a narrow body P-car. There are two guys in the link that purchased rear wheels that were really meant for wide bodies. The link is 4 pages of posts but there is a lot of good info in it and I think it would be worth your time to read it, because it could save you a lot of head-aches and $$$.

Thank you all for the help. You're right, rear offset for the sport design wheel is 65, front is 50.
If I do decide to buy them I'll post a few pictures.
