In reading some of these posts how much is my car worth.Total unrealistic prices. When I was shopping for a porsche dealers pricers were high but the cars came with a warranty and they have an overhead. The worst by far were private party owners thinking there car was made of gold always 6--10,000 over what it was worth. If they they talked about mods they done to the car.I did not even want it.My thinking was they ruined the car I was a newbie. It seems to me the best place to buy a used porsche is from e-bay or smaller car dealers always get a ppi.some porsche owners think my car has low miles but its a 4,5,6,7,year old used car.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Where ever you find the car you like. You can negotiate with dealers (Porsche and non-Porsche) and individuals. With dealers, the longer the car is on the lot the lowere they will go. With some individuals, they are simply not looking to take less than a certain amount. Individuals should by the guides be less than dealers, but this is not always the case. They way I always do it whether it is a dealer or an individual is I have my price in my header after looking at and driving the car. That is my price and they will sel it for that price or not sell it to me. I don't negotiate.
When I was buying my 996, I did this. I had one car I looked at and drove that I offered $4K less than the dealer wanted and did not accept my offer. 2 weeks later I made the same offer. they came down $2K and did not accept. About 4 weeks later I called and made the same offer. They were ready to make a deal. I set up to meet them over the weekend a couple of days later. At 5:30 that afternoon, another party came in and bought the car. I didn't have a deposit to hold it. I have no regrets, because I found another one a couple of weeks later and they accepted my offer.

I think it's never been easier to buy any car, not just a p-car. With fine forums like this plus, the other internet resources for pricing and inventory, buyers have the upper-hand in my opinion. Days where private party sellers can demand above retail price are gone. At least in l.a., the l.a. times and kbb are at the higher end of the price range. Nada is a better source and is used by some if not many dealers. I think autotrader is a good source to determine market prices at the time of purchase.
