Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Just like the Griot's website says "only Italians know how to make super-loud ear-piercing horns!" I thought about replacing the horns with Hella Supertones but they were not that much louder than the stock horns.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've always thought that the horn on my 03, C2 was weak. After locking the car this weekend with the center console opened, I realized the horn report was of a higher pitch than that of the standard horn. I began wondering if the standard horn should be dual-tone, incorporating both high and low octaves? It currently only operates on one tone and has since day 1. I would appreciate confirmation of what "standard operation" is, and assuming dual tone is the standard, any thoughts on how to correct.
The alarm has it's own horn next to the battery.
The horns for the steering wheel are behind the front bumper cover on the passenger side. They are a pair. High and low.

Super Loud Italian Air Horn
from Griot's garage. It is great! It has a nice dual tone sound like the old Ferrari air horns and they are loud -- 139 db!

Just like the Griot's website says "only Italians know how to make super-loud ear-piercing horns!" I thought about replacing the horns with Hella Supertones but they were not that much louder than the stock horns. Here are a couple of figures for comparison:
Environmental Noise
Weakest sound heard 0dB
Normal conversation (3-5') 60-70dB
Telephone dial tone 80dB
City Traffic (inside car) 85dB
Train whistle at 500' 90dB
Subway train at 200' 95dB
Level at which sustained exposure may result in hearing loss 90 - 95dB
Power mower 107dB
Power saw 110dB
Pain begins 125dB
Pneumatic riveter at 4' 125dB
Italian Air Horns at 4' 139dB
Jet engine at 100' 140dB
Death of hearing tissue 180dB
Loudest sound possible 194dB
The horn installation wasn't too bad. It took about an hour with the car on a lift. The horn attaches behind the bumper cover by the passenger side radiator. I just peeled back the skid plate/aero panel and attached the air horn with the supplied bracket and bolt. NOTE: It might be easier if you remove the front bumper cover -- I have small hands so I was able to get away with not removing the bumper cover. I then wired the air horn to the existing high-tone horn in series and was all set.
