It is this sort of short-changing of the customer base that in the end ruins companies.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The airbag warning light came on in my 99 Cab. This happened once before about a year ago. A shop cleared the fault, saying it was the passenger seatbelt recepticle. Since, I have read about those faulty recepticles and the updated parts/fixes. However, seeing that this happens perhaps once a year, is there an easy way to clear the warning light? I tried Autozone, but their scanner couldn't clear it.
Thanks,
Geert
Thanks Patrick,
I knew about the new receptacles, but am kinda balking at that since we are surely out of warranty for those. So the reset is strictly possible via dealer or shop? What about buying a scanner tool?

recall? heh good luck with porsche.. they charge you for it unless under warranty.. porsche doesn't recall, they just charge <g> trust me i know, i had mine replaced..
I love Porsches, but I can't say that I do the company...as far as I can tell, each and every generation 911 has had some major problem (or two), yet the company only steps in when cars are under warranty. When they are blatantly in the wrong, and someone makes a major issue out of their picking up the bill, they go into "goodwill gesture-mode," i.e. half and half, pro-rated, whatever.

It is this sort of short-changing of the customer base that in the end ruins companies. Sad, but the old addage, "take care of your customers and the rest will take care of itself" is undoubtedly not a logo on the company headquarter's wall.

P.S. Everyone has heard the saying that Porsche's R&D department are its customers...
gpallem,
my exact reasoning why i will never, ever purchase another "porsche" ever again.. i really enjoy the driving experience of "the porsche".. BUT the car company itself has the worst customer relations and customer service in the automotive industry.. the crap i went through with my porsche with three different porsche dealers and 1-800-GO-F**KYOURSELF.. i mean 1-800-POR-SCHE.. helped make this decision clear and simple for me..
call to 1-800-POR-SCHE.. "rms, what's that? we can't help you, contact your dealer."
the porsche dealer.. "rms? oh, that's not our problem.. you must have driven the car too hard... here's your $800 bill."
