I thought it was a fuse, but the dealer told me it needed re-programming ($115) because the BATTERY had been disconnected for awhile at the dealer I bought it from.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

1. What is the best winter oil for me to use? (Baltimore) 2. Why does'nt my cruise control work? It did at one point, I unplugged something connected to the brake pedal, it stopped working. I even "reset" the car. 3. Any one got a stock rear &/or front bumper in Arctic Silver for sale? Must be mint(ish) condition for 1999 MY. 4. Center console delete? Yes or no. (I have the HiFi sytem BTW) 5. Any suggestion for fixing door rattle? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Did you depress the little button on the tip of the cruise control stalk?

POST 3Original post

As far as oil, stick to 0w40 through the winter, then in March or April switch to 5-50 or 15-50...

POST 4Original post

2. Your cruise control will not work if the brake light bulbs are burned out or you inadvertently disconnected them.

POST 5Original post

Start with connecting whatever you unplugged by the brake pedal...

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Eli- I did reconnect the brake plug thing. I think it was a plug that sends information to the cruise control unit about whether the brake is depressed (ie-to turn off the Cruise Control when pressing the brake). It was unplugged for about a month, then I plugged it back in. Got a new battery since and gave the car awhile to reset when the battery was removed..... WWEST- Where did you hear about the brake light/cruise control disable. I have never heard that before. BTW, I think my brake lights are fine (my prior MB & BMW would tell me on the dash) but I gues I have never thought to check them.......Haven't been pulled over either, at least not for tail light problems ;-)

POST 7Original post

When I bought Arabelle, the cruise control icon in the dash would not light up so CC could not be activated. I thought it was a fuse, but the dealer told me it needed re-programming ($115) because the BATTERY had been disconnected for awhile at the dealer I bought it from.
