Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is it legal to use radar detector in CA? I ask around and no body can give me a sure answer.

POST 2Original post

To the best of my knowledge, radar detector usage is illegal only in DC and Virginia. David --

POST 3Original post

That's what I think too. As a matter of fact, it's illegal to own in DC but only illegal to use in VA. Not that I haven't had windsheild detector for the past 12 years as I cross sometime 3 boarders in one day (DC,MD,VA).

POST 4Original post

Yeah, this is a really strange part of living in this area -- crossing state borders so frequently with wildly different state laws regarding radar and laser devices. David

POST 5Original post

Yes, CA is legal. Otherwise, cops can confiscate or fine you for having one.
