Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
My decision would depend on how I planned to use the car.
Leading evidence: 'Use car' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use car' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello
I presently have a 996 c2 and i want to change, now its between the 996 turbo or the turbo look 993 c4s. Which car would you guys go with ?
let me know if you heard of any issues with the 993 . thank you
I'd go with the 996TT, though the 993 C4S has a sweet looking rear. You'll probably find the 993 feel more heavy becuase it is and it just doesn't have enough power.
It's apples and oranges.
If reliability and all out performance are what you are looking for, then the 996TT hands down.
If you want a probable classic as an investment, then get the 993 and turn it into a garage queen.
The 993 C4S is gorgeous.
I agree with the prior comments though. My decision would depend on how I planned to use the car. For a DD, I'd get the 996 turbo. For a toy, I'd get the 993.
996 turbo hands down. The 993 is nice but a 996 c4s is also really nice, i dont see the upgrade worth it. Going to a turbo though imho is worth it and will be my next move in 12-18 months or so.
GT3!!
But if I had to pick between the 993 C4S and 996 TT I'd take the TT.
The 993 C4S is absolutely beautiful and if it was a second car I'd get one in a heartbeat. For lots of driving though I'd rather have the 996TT.
I agree with the above. The 996 are better cars to drive and are faster. If you are looking for a show piece or an investment there is more potential with the 993.
The 993 is great looking. One of the best looking cars ever IMO. So is the 67 Stingray and the 72 Cutlass 442. However the 996TT isn't chopped liver in the looks dept. I admit the headlights could be better, but the rest of the lines are brilliant.
Again, it depends on what you are trying to accomplish with the purchase. Both are great cars. It just depends on what you want out of it.
My bro in law had a 993 c4s. Beauty of a car, but noisy, rougher riding, rattling, old feeling compared to a 996. Depends on what you like I guess. Classic air cooled or modern and faster.
I have chosen!
I have had both. the 993 is smaller and tighter - you wear it, not drive it.
however, once the secondary air system clogs up, you will appreciate the 996.
if you get a 996, make sure it has an updated IMS bearing (LN engineering) it will give you peace of mind when you drive.
just my $.02

You want an investment 911, you can do better than the 993 as well, look for old 912's etc. 996TT for fun and value holding and drive and forget good times.
Make sure you spend some time behind the wheel of a 993 before you choose one. The (lack of) ergonomics can be annoying. They made compromises to the driving/seating positions that are surprising for a "driver's car."
