Suggestion

Assuming you are replacing the stock amp with one with higher output (power) if it fits under the seat (doubtful) that would be great although the wiring routing would be an issue.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I see most people just put it in view in the frunk. No one try under the seat? Or small sized amp in the stock location covered?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not too worried about the wiring thats easy enough. I am running an AVH4400 and Focal 5WS in the doors and soon to be Focals all round. I was thinking a mono for the doors and a 4 channel for the rest of the speakers, that way I could fit one in the stock location and another maybe there the stock CD changer would have been. Have you got pics of your setup? Cheers.

POST 4Original post

If its a big one maybe try under the carpet on the bottom of the trunk.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah I did think that could be a possible location, providing the spare wheel doesnt get in the way, could be a good spot.

POST 6Original post

If the amp does have some heat to it you might check the trunk area after driving a while. The radiators in the front do pass heat into the trunk area. A lighter amperage amp might be able to go on the walls in there. Some take the spare out figuring they are going to have the car picked up by a tow vehicle anyway if they have a flat. The spares last I heard aren't that dependable and the supply from what I also read here does not exist. Strange but the 10 year old rubber of the tire isn't anything I'd trust to getting down the hwy for a tire fix. Figuring not using a spare, the spare mounting spot could be used.
