Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My C2 've received some nasty rock chips like the size of rice grain. After I touch them up, i wet sanded it with 2000 grit sandpaper. to my surpise the porsche clear coat is so thin that i rub the clear coast off. Now my hood has a big mark as the size of a quarter. Is there any way to fix it? I bring it to a body shop and they said I need to repaint the whole hood. Is there any way i can buff it off? I am not looking for 100% invisible, just make the spot less noticable is ok. I know a repaint will decrease the value of the vehicle. I located in Los Angles, anyone can recommend a good detail shop to take a look at it?

POST 2Original post

Paint the hood. If the chips are not bad, you can have it wetsanded by a pro to see how deep the clear is left behind. But they might be able to just clearcoat it.

POST 3Original post

Time to paint. Buffing will just take off more paint.
