Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Run 225's' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'cheapest, easiest thing' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check mating surfaces between rotor and hub' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Remove both rotors and check the mating surfaces between rotor and hub for debris that may have cocked one or both rotors on the hub.

Our Mech's have to replace the wheel bearings if we write it up.

i just remembered something: the wheels came with short valve stems, but i left them at home when i took them to the wheel shop, and i just had them use the normal length ones that they have there.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
19 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I'm still getting a steering wheel vibration at around 120.
Guys,
I'm still getting a steering wheel vibration at around 120. New rotors on the front, new rims, new tires (actually sent a set back because i thought that might be the problem but its still there). Rims were rebalanced and no help there.
Could it be the tie rod ends?
Below 120 or so the car is buttery smooth but i get some juddering at speed.
I want to get this solved lol.....its just not making the car enjoyable anymore
Check wheel and rotor axial and lateral runout. Remove both rotors and check the mating surfaces between rotor and hub for debris that may have cocked one or both rotors on the hub.
Perhaps then check if your tires are hopping - you can visually see this... then check all that other stuff cuz then it jus gets more complex and tricky.
^ wish i could do that but i havn't had my OEM wheels in a looooooong time
good point tho. i have a friend with a set of champion 19's he might let me borrow for an hr.
Jack one side up in the front at a time just enough for the tire to graze the ground. Spin the tire and see if it hits the ground at any point, if it stops on the ground, it will tell you the tire is out of round.
If that checks out, jack the car a little higher where the tire clears the ground completely and spin the tire as fast as you can and check for any issues of wobble or out-of-roundness of the wheel, tire, or rotor.
120-140 i think is the worst of it.
i'm thinking itmight be the slightly stretched hankook tires. combined with their sidewall properties, they dont seem to enjoy being stretched i think. I'm running 225's on a 9 or 9.5" rim.
I had a similar problem so I got 4 new tires and balanced and alignment and still have the problem. Funny thing that it happens on the glass smooth road but isn't noticable on other older roads.
I didn't think about the jacking and rolling of the tire trick. Even being new I suppose that the tires can still be out of round.
^ not sure.....i'm kinda low on lisence points so a prolonged 170kph run is not something i want to try.
lets assume that it does go away, what would that imply? and if it doesn't?
Have you looked into the wheel bearing or hub that the wheel is on?
Reason I ask if it goes away is that the aircraft I fly (I know it's not a car) but there are many times were we will get a strong vibration from our nose wheel at 78-83 knots and goes away after we accelerate through that speed. There is no other time when we have a vibration than at this speed.
Our Mech's have to replace the wheel bearings if we write it up.
^ alignment done recently...bilstein PSS9's...it has a corner balance on it.
i just remembered something: the wheels came with short valve stems, but i left them at home when i took them to the wheel shop, and i just had them use the normal length ones that they have there. is it possible that the wheels just arn't balancing with the long valvestems being a bit heavier than the shorter ones would be?
also..took the car upto 170kph today...from 110-127 i have a shake in the wheel...light at 110 but more pronounced at 120. after about 140 the wheel doesn't really shake anymore..but you can still feel the front end of the car vibrating
