Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

My front diff developed a leak early on, that was years ago, they fixed it under warranty....no more leaks and the car has 75k miles on it now......

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Took the car in for an oil change, brake pads and a tech inspection. Well, what they found is not so good. I though there might be a leak in the front suspension from some oil like substance I found on the ground. Well, the shop says they see a leak in the front differential and axle! The car is under warranty. First, what color is the fluid in the front diff? Is it clear? Also, I though the front diff was a sealed unit, does this mean the car could be out for a while? Sorry about all the questions, did a search and found nothing. Thank you CJ

POST 2Original post

CJ, When I had my PSS9s installed, my mechanic said there was probably a leak (maybe a seal) in the front differential (there was no fluid on the floor just some on the underside of the car). Took it to the dealer. They confirmed the leak. They then replaced the seal...test drove it and found it still leaking. Dealer contacted Porsche...they then replaced the entire front differential. All in all it took 3 days. Everything good now.

POST 3Original post

Chris, sometimes those coilovers can leak as well, I've seen it on HR's in the past.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, it sounds like the front diff leak is not something to freak out over. Chris, thats what I thought it was and I even told RPM to take a hard look. They said it was the front diff and not the front shock. Given the dif is under warranty, I am thankful its only my drive train...... ;-)
