Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am looking for a company that can faceplate the gers in the manual trans. Any leads??

POST 2Original post

Do you mean hard-facing like a procedure to strengthen the teeth? Only place I know that handles trannies off the top of my head is Powerhaus II.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Face plating is a precess where they remove the syncro teeth from the gears and weld a large lugged ring to the gear to replace them. This allows full power upshifts and no chance of ever missing a gear. Nothing to do with hardfacing.

POST 5Original post

Are you referring to a dog-type gear set or shift mechanism?

POST 7Original post

My uncle had that done in the early '70s with his '69 Z28 Camaro, wasnt a guarantee to hit every shift but it helped, he ran 11.70s in the quarter-mile in the early '70s (record holding). When he missed a gear the mechanical tach would bang 10,000 RPM, sick for a V8. My father had to replace the clutch after every run. I feel like I can talk about this and not get flamed for drag racing, this board has changed....................................

POST 8Original post

Your father replaced clutches ona Z28 'Maro and you drive a 996 without a clutch! You should be ashamed of yourself! Just kidding! Trying to give you a little Friday Night ****!

POST 9Original post

Nitro, if you ever build this car....promise you will post some video....

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The plan is to have a similar car to the Chevelle. Something that does everything well. Not exactly why I want to sell the Chevelle, I guess maybe I want to try something different. My latest will choice will have to be a 99 C2 so it's light, light cars do everything well. It will be 700 lbs lighter then my Chevelle. I plan to drop a TT motor into it and ditch the stock 3.4. Looks like I might be going Tiptronic at this point because the car will be much faster on boost. I don't want a drag car, it just has to be decenttly quick. I would be plenty happy with 500 rwhp...I think? I've always had a car that is too fast, I cant ruin my reputation!

POST 12Original post

Yes, a video will be highly appreciated once you accomplish this!

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have you seen the vids of my Chevelle?? Dyno was only at 14 spi and 16 degrees of timing with the old turbos, the other video was footage from video I sent to BULLRUN, they did not choose me though. Click here to see Video Click here to see Video
