Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Repair shop' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Repair shop' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I was recently involved in an accident and I am currently trying to get my car repaired. USAA gave the initial settlement (front end damage) at $13k. I realize there is probably some hidden damage and supplemental stuff that will be uncovered once they actual start to take things apart........fine.
The body shop charges $8/hr over what USAA caps its rate at. So I have to pay $8 for every hour out of my own pocket......fine, this is a highline shop, and I chose it not USA. There is also a charge for some materials that USAA doesnt cover (once again a cap on paint materials), so I am out like $900 just off the start total.
I noticed for many parts quoted, I can get them cheaper. For example, for my Aero 1 nose, they quoted $2700, but I can buy this for less than $2k for sure (porsche new parts). I was hoping some realized parts savings could help me close the gap on the labor overages. The body shop says that cant happen because if they buy a part cheaper than what the insurance company is compensating for, then they have to state that and I am just given less money, rather than being able to pocket any cash........and the shop says they dont get the cash either..........is this true? I would think the body shop buys parts and doesn't have to show the insurance company its receipts, as arent they selling me the parts?
The body shop is handling the purchasing of parts, they go thru the local porsche dealership, and they almost require it go that way. I know if the insurance quotes say $1k but the part is $1200, then the insurance company will pay the difference. But does it work in reverse, where when the shop buys it cheaper, the insurance company pays less? I mean certainly the body shop is marking up the parts, but for the insurance company to know they could buy somehting cheaper they would have to be disclosing that somehow to the insurance company.....

This is what I know
The bodyshop is full of SHI*, I mean really; they are full of SHI*
One of my really good friends owed a body shop and I remember him telling me stories how he and the insurance adjuster would work together to come up with the cost for repairs. Lets call it a pay off. The customer gets his car fixed, the insurance adjuster was happy(I mean more money in the pocket) and the shop, well lets just say everyone made money.
It's a pain in the *** but if you want to make out on this deal this is what I would do.
Take car some where else and tell the shop that you are paying for the cost of repair out of your own pocket. Make up a story of how you can't tell your insurance about it.
Then pocket the difference from the insurance company.
