i recall a thread regarding someone's cf steering wheel had cracked and was replaced under warranty but the replacement didn't match the other cf pieces in his car.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys, we have a few more CF Center consoles left. A few people asked me to post pictures of them so I finally got a chance to take some. We're working directly with MaCarbon (latest Board Sponsor) on this low, low price.
$920 and only a few left.
Hahah, Neighbor, you're funny!
A customer called on Friday that bought one and was amazed at the quality of work. MaCarbon really does nice work. It's just as good as OEM.
sheeooot! i hope it's better than oem cuz the oem carbon console discolors in the sun. porsche must not have used any UV inhibitor in their epoxy. mine is now yellowish and cheap looking!
hey kirby, does your console have the smoker-delete tray rather than the ash tray?
sorry i missed the drive, family stuff. looked like a blast though.
I believe that was me
YES, the quality of the CF console is excellent...I wouldn't be able to tell it apart from a genuine porsche COMPLETE console...even has the ashtray light with it own little harness in it....direct bolt on replace of the stock console....I already had the factory CF trim on my 2002, this completes the interior with CF...I'm not one to spend that kind of money on an interior piece, but after recieving this, I would do it again! It's a joy to see everytime to get into your car and your passengers WILL be taken by it

Hey Kevin
It was a pleasure talking to you on Friday. Did you find the instructions for the install? Did you have any problems?
Let me know how your test drives go.
Hey Carlos, give our shop a call and ask them. MaCarbon is in the same complex as us and our sales team will be able to find out for you. I'm pretty sure we can get it done in CF.

Yea, man I was looking for you on saturday. After the drive we were like dang where was Carlos?
Kirby, please take this the right way as I think your posts always have something to offer other 996 enthusiasts. But, can't you put this stuff in the for sale section instead of the 996 discussion area? It's NOT just you, but some people ( businesses) seem to think this is their own personal selling turf, and I think it does a disservice to the board in general. I know I'm not alone here. Again, I enjoy your posts, I hope I'm not coming off as some jerk, don't take it wrong but rather a constructive criticism.
Cheers.
A poll is in order....I for one want to see 969 Motorsports updates in the 996 section here where I actually frequent and can see them. I could be wrong but I don't think people visit the for sale section a fifth of the number of times they do this section ( I know i don't). Besides, being a site sponsor they help keep this site afloat...
--- Kevin
Doug, I would post in the for sale section, but not everyone can view it. It is only for Rennlist members and it says its a Member to Member listing. If there was a Sponsors for sale section I think that might work...But like Kevin said, very few people frequent the for sale section.
I'm sorry if my post annoyed you, that of course was not my intention. I don't post everything that we have for sale like suspension, rims, etc... Just what I think is the best deal we have for you guys. I try to keep the board in mind when I post this stuff. I think this is only my second for sale post...next one might be for my car....Doh! I can't decide!!!!
Pahhhhlease! it's not like there are so many threads in this paticular form, that posts like this are an inconvenience. If you don't want to read it move on. 969 and every other sponsor pay monthly dues to have the ability to advertise their products. I see no harm no fowl here. Keep us informed of new products and specials Kriby.
Eric, Doug has a point and you have a point. There is no right or wrong in this case. I agree that many vendors (i guess myself included) post a lot of for sale stuff. There are days that I come to rennlist just wanting to read something informative or help someone out with their auto problems. I don't want the day to come that I logon to rennlist and the first 5 or 6 posts are for sale....
With that said...
Come and get your CF Consoles! at $920 you won't find a better deal!!!!
Cheers!
Now that your a sponsor you turn into a politician! In the last week there was your thread and a group buy thread. I don't think your "some day" expectation is valid. Defend yourself from now on. This is the only forum I really frequent on Rennlist so I would rather see these threads posted here.
Hey Eric, just didn't want this thread...like many other threads turn into a Debate. Just wanted it to stay on the subject at hand...I hate when a thread is good, then someone happens to disagree and all hell breaks loose. Not that, that ws going to happen here, but you never know.
In any case, how the heck have you been Eric? I just IM'd you. J.D. emailed me the other day...Rejex overhaul?
Edit: And I DO appreciate you trying to defend my position. I would do the same for you.
I feel compelled to defend Kirby as well. Although I haven't bought anything from him yet (one day, though...), I think items that are of significant savings should be posted here. I agree that items of small discounts should not be posted all over the place, but everyone here seems to be very conscious of not stepping on toe many toes. I actually enjoy seeing what kinds of incredible deals these guys post here. Vivid, Kirby, etc., have been doing an admirable job of not littering this forum with random sales posts, just key ones that people here have asked for in the past - Fabspeed, CF console, etc., that I've personally asked for.
Kirby, no worries you didn't annoy me at all, quite the contrary I enjoy your posts and I think a little friendly debate is a healthy thing. I'm sorry that the thread got side tracked, but as a long time member I have noticed a spike in vendor posts over the last year or so, which is a two edged sword. It's a good thing when the vendors offer good deals to Rennlist members etc, and not such a good thing when it comes off as a constant sales pitch. Just my .02, and you probably have some change coming
hey doug, sorry but i will respectfully disagree. it really doesn't clutter up the board, unlike the barrage of RMS threads
. on any given day the most "vendor/rennlist sponsor" for sale ads we'll see are three - sharkwerks, 969 motorsports and vivid racing. 3 out of 40 threads.
Doug, my fellow Texan, I totally understand your concern. Btw, I'm glad our forum doesn't ramp up like the OT Forum, my god, those guys can get vicious. The 996 Forum is such a great community of people (getting that warm and fuzzy feeling now)
. Now get back to work!
Hey Karlooz, when I took my car to the local Pcar dealership for some bodywork they also (without my asking) managed to get rid of the haze on my CF interior parts! Two months later and they all still look like new. I'll have to PING them to see what they did... It was so appreciated.
hey thx for the tip chronos
my console doesn't have a haze but has turned yellowish. very noticeable against the CF shift **** i got. the shift **** is still black.
If it turned yellow in the Bay area, it'll definietly turn yellow in Texas. I'm worried about that steering wheel. The car is indoors for 90% of the time, though.
your 996 is '02+ so hopefully porsche has concocted a new UV resistant formula. i recall a thread regarding someone's cf steering wheel had cracked and was replaced under warranty but the replacement didn't match the other cf pieces in his car. everything had faded/discoloured at the same rate so he didn't notice the discolouration. i think he tried to get everything replaced under warranty but i'm not sure of the outcome.
Hi Everyone,
My first post here. Thanks to Kirby and 969 Motorsports for working with us on the special intro pricing for the center consoles.
I wanted to address a few questions that have come up in the thread.
First off, our Porsche carbon laminate parts are all handmade made in Belgium. These are not imported from China or any other country. We are focused on producing a quality product that will really stand out in your interior. With interior carbon, since let's be honest, it is all cosmetic, we focus on getting the carbon weave perfect and a nice glassy finish.
As for OEM parts turning cloudy, Porsche has and does use a number of suppliers over the years and not all have stood up. My partner has supplied carbon parts to Porsche in the past and does so today. All of our parts use BASF lacquer that has a UV inhibitor included. The key to maintenance of our products is the use of the proper cleaning agent. Strong cleaning products attack all surfaces including ours and can hurt the clear coat. We actually recommend Pledge, yes the Pledge you use on your wood furniture, for cleaning our parts. A soft cloth or micro fiber wetted with Pledge will keep the surface in good shape and result in an interior that will look good for a long time.
If you have any questions or any comments feel free to contact me directly. For the console special please talk to 969. MAcarbon will have a booth at Concorso Italiano this Friday Aug 19th where you'll be able to look at all our products as well as an installed 996 cab interior.

my few cents...
I could be wrong, but I though the 'point' of being a paid sponsor of a forum such as this (other than perhaps just sending money to support to a great place) is so the paid sponsors can 'advertise' and talk about their products / services IN the forums, no?
I imagine that both the paid members and the paid sponsors are important to financially enable Rennlist to be here for everyone to enjoy. I think the rules John D has set up and the way he set up advertiser / sponsors (as I understand it) is positive for the overall 'good' of the forum and it's user / members.
I saw the MAcarbon stuff at 969 Saturday and it does indeed appear to be very high quality.
