Returned the cheaper plugs and got a set from Eric.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Suncoast Motorsports sells them for $9.95. I paid $24.95 to bumperplugs.com recently!

They ain't the same. Sorry.
The real deal, with our proprietary 14-stage finish, can only be found here
Eric,
I just tried to purchase a set of seal gray bumper plugs, by using the link, just got to the point of the ecart, which was unaccessible.
Give me a phone # so I don't have to mess around. You help sponsor this great site and I appreciate it.
I can't say whether they are the same or not but Suncoast is a Porsche dealer and it is just two pieces of plastic and paint as far as I am concerned. Competition is what America is all about so stop complaining!
I live in NY and had my front bumper holes sealed up at my friends body shop and the front of the car looks perfect now. The only tickets that I've gotten were for parking so I never park on the street anymore. In my opinion, it makes the car look so much sleeker.
I live in NY also and the reason I didn't put my front plate back on is because I had the bumper resprayed and the holes aren't right now, the plate would pop out with light/minimal impact. So I got bumperplug plugs and it looks great.
I am going to have a copy of my plate made onto a magnet (actual size) and put it on my hood over the clear bra. I'm not sure if this is legal, but they do this in Europe. We'll see what happens at the local registration/seat belt check point
I bought a set of those - they're OK but the paint is poorly applied. The finish was uneven, and the thickness of the paint was so thin around the edges that the black plastic is showing thru. If I had to do it again I'd go for the bumper plugs.
I bought the originals from Bumperplugs.com and they are perfect. I subsequently sent my bumperettes to Eric for painting and they came back perfect. Why waste time trying to save a few dollars and end up ordering the good ones in the end anyway ??
I have the real bumperplugs (thanks Eric!) and have seen the fake ones a couple of times -- there is no comparison.
For example, I saw a set of black ones on a Boxster S and they neither matched the color nor the finish of the paint. They were a joke.
Mine are Ocean Blue and match my bumper perfectly.
As someone has already said, to save $14 on a $80k car is a false economy...
What's that old saying?....You get what you pay for?
I have the black bumperplugs(real ones) and they're Primo!
Jeez if they can't match black ones, how good can they be?!?!
I'm yet another proud owner of the REAL BumperPlugs, DoorPlug, and Painted Bumperettes (Bird Plug too!! ). Eric's work is first class, why skimp on your Porsche?
I bought my car at Braman Porsche in West Palm Beach. They were selling the plugs for $40.00. They claimed they were from Eric's company. True Eric? If so they are really marking up your product.
Thanks for the great products!
Mike
I have the $9.95 ones and they're fine. Why pay 2.5X more for something so small? The front of the car is just going to get chipped up anyways unless you don't drive the darn thing.
I bought the cheaper plugs thinking there would be no difference, just the price. I was wrong. Returned the cheaper plugs and got a set from Eric. They match perfect. The other plugs had a textured finish. No comparison in the quality of finish. Just my $0.02. If you want something to jsut fill the holes, go with the cheaper ones. If you are **** and want an exact match, go with Eric's plugs. Thanks Eric!
if you want bumper plugs, get them from eric, the bumper plug guy. i got three sets from him for my cars. when the paint on one cracked after a year, he replaced it no Q asked. that's service!
Thanks Eric. You are a stand up guy! I drove from Phoenix to Vancouver in July and noticed that one of the plugs was chipping off some paint though my bumper around the plug was in good shape. The bugs and stones must have hit the plug.
Washington state also requires license plates front and rear.
But somehow I seemed to have misplaced my front license plate during the time I waited for Porsche to ship the front bracket and so I ordered a replacement plate for $13.00. But now for some reason or another the replacement seems to be lost in the mail somewhere.
Luckily I was thoughful enough to keep the WA state paperwork wherein I placed the replacement order in the car's glovebox.
"just in case".
I hate to have a big discussion over a friggin $20 part, but I was a cheapo and bought the one's from Suncoast. I am perfectly happy with them - the paint matches, they fit the holes properly, and I have nothing to complain about.
While the bumper plug might in fact be a better product, let's remember what we're talking about here: it's a piece of plastic that covers a hole. Do we really need a 14 stage finish on it?
Eric this is in no way a slam on you or your product - I'm sure it's the best darn bumper plug in the world, but come on, $25 for a part that originally cost pennies to manufacture?
