Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Where are the actual mounting points? any installation guidelines available? please advise! thanks, brad

POST 3Original post

I put a Speedware bar in my 996 a couple of years ago. I'm not sure if they have changed but at that time the main bar bolted to the upper shoulder belt mount. In addition, two baces extended down to small brackets that fit under the back, outside seat sliders. It's a pretty easy installation. Jim

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i thought that they went rearward in the car, such as to the rear seat mounts, or the child seat restraint locations. i'll take another look. thanks!

POST 5Original post

I just took a look at their web site and they haven't changed. They still mount as described above. In terms of safety, I really don't like harness bars but if you are going to have one it should be directly behind the front seats and at the proper height. BTW, as I recall, the bar did limit seat travel which might be a problem if you are tall.
