Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I had a local indy do the work ($575 for pump, belt, t-stat, tank, cap, hoses, flush/fill coolant, bleed/burp the system) and he ordered the hoses.

I mean a complete flush of the entire system and re-fill with the pretty green fluid!
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

All that and you didnt flush the power steering system? Guess you didnt see my DIY for that. I mean a complete flush of the entire system and re-fill with the pretty green fluid! Tsk, tsk, your slacking.
I'll always be a champion for the 4" underdrive pulley - in addition to being the cheapest way to net additional power @ the wheels, you flog your accessories (water pump, PS pump) less vigorously @ high RPM.
I had a local indy do the work ($575 for pump, belt, t-stat, tank, cap, hoses, flush/fill coolant, bleed/burp the system) and he ordered the hoses. Do you have a local indy nearby?
I order my parts either from Pelican or Sunset Porsche.
($575 for pump, belt, t-stat, tank, cap, hoses, flush/fill coolant, bleed/burp the system)
That amount wont even cover the cost for all hoses so I doubt they were all replaced.
In case you missed it,
I paid my indy $575 to do the work
(yes, I am a plastic mechanic). The cost for parts is obviously separate from the labor cost.
Plus you doubted wrong since I happened to be watching him as he was doing the work (yes, I am fortunate that he allows his longtime customers to do so on occasion)
He handed me each USED part he removed/replaced which I dutifully packed in a box.
Guess I misunderstood this part. About how much were all the hoses? There are so many on the 996 I would imagine it was a fortune. Did he also change the ones on the coolant tank, engine, etc. or just the main ones and under the car? Personally, Im dreading doing this.
