Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

19 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

will a 2003 996 c2 5 spokes wheels fit a 1996 996 c2 without spacers?

POST 2Original post

First units of 996 models were made at late 1997. 1996?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

oops! I mean it's a 1999. Would a 2003 996 c2 wheels 18x8 and 18x10 rear offset 65 would fit earlier model 996? Or does it need spacers?

Ed First rule of Rennlist.... never, NEVER apologize to a Newbie. You need to slap 'em around a little to get their attention! mikop1, Welcome to Rennlist. As Ed mentioned, it is customary for Newbies to post pics of their car so we can all see it. So now I have to give you the "Newbie Initiation" speach. Ahem! <Tim clears his throat> Come on Newbie, post the !@#$%^&* pics! Please know that this is intended in good fun, but we really do like to see pics of the cars, because we are Pic ******! Once again, Welcome to Rennlist and Congrats on getting the P-car.

Tim, Rennlist wouldn't be the same without you. When arriving from working a bit tired and not vey good humor, It's nice to read your posts and smiling. I'm waiting for your next 911 to congratulate you. You deserve to pick a good 996 more than anybody

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm not sure if the pictures are showing. The wheels are not perfect has some curb rush on three of them and the color is blue. I will probably get it redone and repainted. Some told me it looks good and some says match paint it with the car and some says black and polished. Suggestions please! And how much does it normally cost to get Rims repaired. Thanks! Miko

POST 12Original post

WoW, Nice car, Thanks for sharing!!! <got my fix for the day>

POST 13Original post

You have any rubbing issues? I thought you were gonna put a c2 5 spoke?

POST 14Original post

Miko, thanks for posting the pics! Nice looking car. Yeah, I agree, you do need a rim job.... oh wait.... that didn't come out right.... let me try that again. Yeah, I agree, the wheels need some work. I would suggest black spokes with polished lips. That would be a good contrast to your car.

Joaquin, Thanks for the kind words. There are times when I don't have much to comtribute except maybe a little humor. If I can pass on a few laughs or even a few smiles to my fellow Rennlisters, then it is worth it. I would love to get another 911 some day, but I am afraid it is not going to be anytime soon. I will be losing my job on December 3rd. The company is laying off over 150 corporate people and will have only 30 remaining.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes I do have some rubbing issues from the rear. I got rid of that 5 spoke wheels, Porsche are good wheels. It feels lighter than the HRE when compared carrying it. So it's not bad compared to HRE, I was expecting HRE will be a lot lighter. It's bigger and wider that's why HRE is heavier , but It's a deal I can't refuse. I could fold & stretch my fender or send the wheels to HRE and they will take off 1 inch total to get more + offset. Or get my fender wider. Not sure what to do yet, I'm just driving normal and enjoying my cars new look. Thanks!

POST 17Original post

This wheel looks bent .... at the 7 o'clock location this one from 11 -1 o'clock Are these beat up and bent?---- just curious, could be angles in the pictures

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Tim, I would defenitely get it painted black when I get it done. Thanks for the suggestion I was thinking of matching it with my car color but theres other people that told me black also. Ed, Youre right on the first wheel at 7 o'clock, but the second wheel is not bent it has road rush. The offset on the rears are too agressive. I'm still very happy with the even swap. My old wheels I swaped needs new rear tires already, the front tires of this HRE are almost new atleast 90%. The rears are thick also but are not matching only one is a porsche tire. Worst come to worst I have to buy new wheels on the rears, but HRE could fix my current rear wheels. Once again thanks for all your help and will post it when it's done!
