Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
How often do you picture yourself "adjusting" the car before/during/after you drive it?
Leading evidence: 'Adjust " the car' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'most economical of my options' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust " the car' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Perhaps Apples to Oranges here, but a few years ago I had the opportunity to instruct in a 996TT at Watkins glen and the only "change" at that time to the car was the X74(?) suspension upgrade.

I wonder if u just change the springs that we would be the same as ROW without changing the whole suspension??

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a C4S 2004.5. What do you think about The ROW 030 vs Billstein PSS10?
I don't track. It's a DD and does mountain runs when I get the time.
....or should I take Jauqin's advice and just use sport shocks and springs?
I am currently DD my car only and may start tracking when free time becomes available.
I installed PSS9s and GT3 sways last winter instead of upgrading slowly. The ride is awesome and have made little adjustments so it handles just the way I want now.
I would look for a deal on closeout PSS9s and new sways for the price of PSS10s. It will save you the hassel of upgrading again plus you can tweak the car to your liking. I have never heard of anyone selling their PSS9s and downgrade.
PSS10, daily driver. Set on '4' for rears and I think '3' on the front.
not as harsh as one would think. Although I track the car often so for me, having adjustability is desirable.
Oh sure, make it even more complicated...
I'm pretty sure ROW will work. We already have the US 030 on our cars. I wonder if u just change the springs that we would be the same as ROW without changing the whole suspension??
More?
H&R has a
ClubSport
version too; but I read the description to mean
.....its just stiffer
You know, I thought about that same environment; ROW 030 springs only + US stock C4S shocks, but reading the PCA article, I fear our shocks may not be able to keep up with the stiffer springs.
In case you are not aware, the C4S already comes with the sport suspension or M030 as standard, albeit the US version. Getting the ROW version will lower the front height a bit, 10 mm I think, but everything else will be the same. Not realy worth it, IMHO.
I'd leave it alone. It's already stiff for a daily driver, and perfect for the occasional mountain run. Unless you plan to extensively track, the stock C4S suspension is probably perfect for you. That, of course, is IMHO.
What are you really trying to acheive with the car? Do you want to just lower the car? How low can you go before you can't get in the driveway? or to the bank etc etc... Do you want to stiffen the car (and potentially make it too harsh to drive in a relaxed manner)? What handling characterisitcs of the stock set up do you not like? Understeer? Oversteer? Body lean? How often do you picture yourself "adjusting" the car before/during/after you drive it?
Its easy to throw money at a car.. but its harder to make it "right".
Perhaps Apples to Oranges here, but a few years ago I had the opportunity to instruct in a 996TT at Watkins glen and the only "change" at that time to the car was the X74(?) suspension upgrade. The car was fantastic.. both on the track and off. imho, the Porsche sport suspension do a great job of maintaining streetability and allowing sporting drives to be rewarded as well.
I think its reasonable to imply from his earlier posts which you quoted that he's looking for a slightly firmer and lower ride than his current Stock US C4S suspension.
I have asked this question before and it seems that the consensus is to go with the x74 as the best all around. I am told the ROE M030 may not lower the car enough to my satisfaction, but still a great buy at $1100. However, it seems that Carnewal can sell them with s/h included to US for about 1450 euros. Not a bad deal.
Comments welcomes as I am about to spend some money w/o the wife knowing.
Yes, exactly...just a little tighter all the way around, and just a little lower.
But I know that everything I change will have a slight ripple effect in the ride and feel. I'm afraid that I'll spend a lot of cash and be right back where I started,... or just different.
Maybe it's best to just leave it as is, then when things wear out replace with with better bushings, etc.?
