Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Just make sure that you clean the internal threads (I used Q-tips and acetone) and use a small brass brush to clean the external threads.
Leading evidence: 'Use q-tips and acetone)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean external threads' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

When I needed an 8mm triple square I wound up buying this set off Amazon.

It is a BBS wheel and uses a 12-point metric torx.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have 18" sport design wheels 2 piece, I am trying to take them apart and I can't find a tool for the small bolts around the perimeter. I looks like a 12 point torx but I have checked Autozone, Sears, Pep Boys, Lowes and have not found something like that.....anyone have any tips?
twelve points are ussually used for axles....they are out there, try sears sometimes the local store has some different stuff, also advance auto ussually has a nice selection of varied tools.
If you take the wheel apart, can you reuse the fasteners? Or are you supposed to replace them? They're titanium, right?
Also, I assume there's some kind of sealant between the 2 pieces to make them air tight?
Just FYI for anyone else, O'Reily's Auto Parts had the tool.
I tried Napa, Pep Boys, Autozone, Sears (online has it but not the store), Lowes, and Harbor Freight before I found it.
8mm triple square. I bought the bits at a local PepBoys. Be careful when you take these apart and reassemble them, as you cannot get replacement bolts (which are a work or art, by the way). There is no need to seal them during assembly, as the outer part is intact. Just make sure that you clean the internal threads (I used Q-tips and acetone) and use a small brass brush to clean the external threads. Make sure that everything is dry and free of oils during assembly.
Use 145 inch pounds torque during assembly. When I put mine back together, I did a two step torque with the first one about half the final value. Also, torque in an alternating pattern side to side.
