yes - on the tail you get way more light play with the Basalt than if it was Jet..lots of times it looks BLACK - it just has the ability to change under different light.

Looking to pick up a 996 C4S. A dealer has a nice Basalt Black waiting for me. Just need some pics, though, to see how it looks relative to Jet Black. Any and all pics of your car in its most provocative pose would be mucho appreciated. Thx.

hard to tell here but it is not as flat as full black. if you look at the front bumper in this light it shows the depth of colours a bit. again - really dark but not jet black. Botttom line - Basalt Black is way more than just black - all colours are very personal but everyone who has seen this colour in bright light loves it.
