I'm thinking of changing some parts to black (center console, shifter, p brake, mabe door panel uppers...).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all. Enjoying the information and discussions (some spirited) that I've been reading through. I'm a 34 y/o IT geek. I bought my 01 996 about 5 weeks ago after dreaming of owning a Porsche since I saw my first one standing on the back seat of mom's car watching traffic as a kid. I'll never forget that whale tail and sound as it tore by. The dream became a reality. Now it's time to "make it mine". I've never been one to leave anything stock. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences and opinions on my many future questions!

POST 5Original post

I just got sentimental about my 2001 C4.. Black/Graphite Grey, ah awesome car. Welcome to the Porsche funny farm.

POST 8Original post

First thing you should buy is a straight jacket. It will serve two useful purposes; 1) you'll need it here at the "farm" and 2) it will keep you from reaching your wallet to pay for MODs. Welcome and congrats on your P-car purchase!

POST 10Original post

Welcome to the show!!!! Remember, the more you spend on her the more satisfied you will be$$$$$$$$$

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all the welcomes. The mod bug has already bitten me. The venom has done it's damage. Fabspeed exhaust installed. SSK ordered. H&R springs a mouse click away. Looking for tips. Hagling on some 18" Carrera 5 spokes.... Trying decide what direction to go in with the interior. It's tan. I'm thinking of changing some parts to black (center console, shifter, p brake, mabe door panel uppers...). Anyone done this combo? Suggestions? Not a CF fan.

POST 13Original post

Personally, I like my interior Black on Black just the way it is, I had my 993 with Tan and also loved it - as for the fabspeed exhaust, your going to love it, I also installed the headers as well with the cold air kit - So I guess I am Fabspeed Out! Thus far no problems, perfection.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was a little disappointed in the Fabspeed exhaust at first. I was expecting more sound. Then I discovered I just needed to keep the RPM's around 5k at all times and all is good! LOL I was looking for black on black but couldn't pass up this deal. Just one more thing to mod!

POST 15Original post

Welcome! Now cough up 30 bucks for clear side-markers....

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Been there, done that! Smoked actually. The pic I posted was from it's first day at it's new home. Since then, apperance wise, I had the window's tinted, the side markers changed, and cleaned/polished the stock exhaust tips.
