Hi folks, I am currently looking at purchasing a 2000 996 C4 Cab with tiptronic. Car is immaculate with only 15,000 miles. I love the car ( i also have a 964), but do not have much experieince with the automatic gearbox on the 996. Can anyone provide any advice or opinions on them please. Cab looks fantastic...any issues to check out for i.e noise, leaks etc ? Any advice woul dbe gratefully received. Al. 90 964 C2 and hopefully shortly a 996 C4

I just purchased an 02 C4 cab 6 spd a few days ago with 22,000. No leaks on the top and I drove home from the dealer for 4 hours in one of the worse thunderstorms I have ever seen. I have had two episodes where the top come down partially (about 2 inches from where it locks) and then stops. I can pull it down to lock it easily, but then the next time it was fine. You have lots of warranty on the vehicle so I wouldn't worry about things like this. Sorry, but I have no experience with the tiptronic. Good luck and happy searching. This was one of the best things I have done for myself. It almost seems wrong that I am enjoying it as much as I am.

Why? A 2000 would be out of warranty by now unless a CPO.

Whoops. I misread. I thought it was listed as 2004. I know the top was changed with the 02 model, so please disregard everything I said. I am very sorry for the confusion

dmac...no need for being sorry. trust me, we all misread around here. Figured that is what happened, but I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something (like maybe it was under CPO or some other warranty).
