Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
He actually showed me a Keysone wheel he was trying to do a weld repair on (NOT a wheel like yours, so who knows, your mileage may vary), and as he welded, all kinds of bright colors from the impurites came streaming out, and you could actually see the silicone run out of the metal.

Suggestion
They use a lot of silicone in the alloy to keep it more flexible, because the alloys have a lot of impurities from tramp metals.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

All 4 of my wheels had a flat spot to varying degrees and one had a small crack, all from the PO (which I'll post pics of as soon as the Admin "lets" me, seems, I'm still not a member, tho, I am???).
When I bought my car in February, it had chrome Carrera2 5 spokes. I knew I was going to have to change them out because when it comes to wheels I am a minimalist. I like simple. I love the 5 spokes. When I ordered my 03 Boxster I paid $3k to get them as an option.
So as a temporary fix i ordered a set of replicas. They turned out very nice! Mounted on the car you can not tell the difference from OEM.
From this thread:
https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/408333-turbo-twist-wheels-on-e-bay.html
18" 02' Carrera2 5 spokes
8" Front 21lbs
10" Rear 23lbs
My unscientific measurements* of the replicas resulted in the following
18" 02' Carrera2 5 spokes replicas
8" Front 21.5lbs
10" Rear 24.5lbs
*I hopped on the scale to get a base line. Then I grabbed a front and got back on the scale. Subtract the baseline. rinse and repeat with the rear.
Now some pics
They came packaged very well. They were also bagged and had a wheel sock thingy
Stickers
The bad
The wheels
I will post pictures of them on my car either tonight or tomorrow
I had to think long and hard before ordering them when I found out they were made in China.
As of now all my driving (about 5k a year) is on the street with an occasional AutoX, I figured the extremely low price was worth the gamble.
There is one noticeable difference between these replicas and the ones made in Italy...well besides the price.

I am not sure where they get different weights if all of the above is true.
Other than that the only other thing I know about the manufacturing processes is that they are made in China.
Sorry
ohhh I didn't think about that.
Why didn't you say something before I licked them to clean them???
My guess is that they are not as hollow as the OEM ones, and they are probably made from a heavier material.
Shrugs all I know is that the bling is gone!
The OEM ones are not hollow, AFAIK. Let us know how they hold up. The difference most probably is that the actual alloy is definitely NOT the same. Al 6061 comes in varying grades...but it is still the "same" material. I just had my my 18" OE BBS 5 spokes R&Red at a wheel place here in Richmond that has done thousands of wheels. There IS a reason that the Keystones are a LOT less, though IMHO ANY OE wheel is way overpriced. Keystone has a poor reputation in the aftermarket wheel industry for cracking. They use a lot of silicone in the alloy to keep it more flexible, because the alloys have a lot of impurities from tramp metals. He actually showed me a Keysone wheel he was trying to do a weld repair on (NOT a wheel like yours, so who knows, your mileage may vary), and as he welded, all kinds of bright colors from the impurites came streaming out, and you could actually see the silicone run out of the metal. All 4 of my wheels had a flat spot to varying degrees and one had a small crack, all from the PO (which I'll post pics of as soon as the Admin "lets" me, seems, I'm still not a member, tho, I am???). He told me mine welded up very easily, and they trued easily as well. I'd be worried about the light 18" Keystones, if the BBS OE's will flat & crack (only 37k miles when I got it). Keep the pressures up and watch the inside beads..that's where the majority of flat spots and cracks are, not the out side face, where there is more metal. I don't track, but I'd never on those aftermarket wheels, after what I saw.
This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
