Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

+ if I go for the cheaper set I can afford to have them painted black straight away and not have to wait!!!!

I enjoyed checking out yours and Mr Fig's set-ups.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Would anyone agree with this ebay listing and that these wheels will fit a NB 996 02, given the offsets they are claiming. I called wheel enhancement and they we're concerned that any Carrera Sport wheels would fit a NB 996. IS that true?
those are good looking wheels, but i have a hard time believing their 11.5" rears claim. i don't think porsche makes them that wide.. more like 11s.... even then not sure if it'd fit an nb 996 since an nb 996 is less wide than an nb 997
Which extra .5"? Wheel radius?
The offset is similar to 996 GT3 factory fitment; this wheel would sit inside the fender well 4mm more than the 996 GT3 wheel, and be 4mm closer to the strut, etc. 4mm is just over 1/8" (5/32").
I would be concerned. I have 11's on my NB 996 and they "just" fit. I'm not sure you'll have an extra 1/4 in inside (by the strut) and 1/4" outside (by the fender).
It's one of those "may work/may not" type of things IMHO (tire size will also play a factor)
I just noticed that the wheel in question is an 11.5"et67.
With the 4mm extra offset and extra width, the wheel would be 10mm closer to the strut than the 996 GT3 11" wheel.
That's significant.
I bought these wheels for my car...got them from Carlos at wheel dynamics. He knows his wheels. They were more expensive than those but they do fit. It is extremely tight on the inside and outside, but I have had them on for a few months now and no rubbing on either side. My car is a 2000...I think the 02's and newer actually have a little more room on the inside.
I'll try to find some pictures and post them tomorrow...
FWIW I run an 11.5 rear ET60.. that is the same as this one with the vendor's recommended 7mm spacer. Do a search in the MKI Aero thread I posted very recent pics with the wheels mounted. No rub.. in or out. And lots of room on the inside.. We measured about 2" of clearance from anything solid (not counting the plastic liner at the inside lower front edge of the wheelwell).
Here is a pic...again, can't say enough good things about Carlos at wheeldynamics.com
I have actually added 5mm spacers to the front since this pic was taken...and Carlos sent me 5mm spacers for the rear that are on in this pic. He sais that the newer 996's don't require the spacers to fit.
Hey, no worries pal!
I enjoyed checking out yours and Mr Fig's set-ups. Fig, I love those Black rims... they're exactly what I'm looking for! I'm pretty set on these wheels now...
But is the consensus that they will fit? I really don't understand all of the offset computations and considerations... + if I go for the cheaper set I can afford to have them painted black straight away and not have to wait!!!! M Fig, do you mind telling me exactly what your offsets where along with tire sizes front and back? Cheers. Karl.
