Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. I just bought a C4s 2003 and the reception on the AM band is just terrible. The worst of any car I have ever owned. Really can't believe how bad it is.........is this normal for a 996 of this year, and a characteristic flaw with this car or newer Porsches........my 95 Carrera 993 radio is light years better as far as AM reception.......etc....
Addicted to ESPN sports talk radio on AM........any info would help.....thanx
The Porsche antennae is in the windshield and the FM and AM reception is terrible in all 996's that I know of. Unless you want to put an external antennae on that's the way it goes.

ESPN Radio is the worldwide leader in sports radio, offering the best and biggest in sports broadcasting on Sirius satellite radio . Antenna can be mounted in the Trunk .
When I first got my 996, the AM reception was very bad. I returned to the dealer and they said that their was a grounding problems which they fixed. I have no problem at all now. I listen to AM almost exclusively and can clearly here all the Chicago stations up to 80 miles away. (thanks to few hills in northern Illinois) Occasionally I do get a clicking noise which follows the engine speed, but this is rare and never last long. Sorry but I don't have the details of the repair Porsche made.
I am looking to add sat radio to my C2. I've seen the differences between the two sat providers. Being able to place the ant in the trunck would sway me to that provider.....
