This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 3Original post

A new engine will run you 10K + or - Depending on the condition of the rest of the car, I guess it's a good deal. Got to lose the Foose wheels though!

POST 4Original post

i just bought my cab with no motor for $13k. better know what you're doing though, could have a bad tranny, suspension, electrical problems and a host of other issues you may not find out about until you drop in that new motor.

Yep, great donor car for a racer build!

POST 7Original post

A couple weeks ago, I saw a low mile 997 3.8 engine for sale on Pelican for $7,500. This car and that engine would make a fun project. I agree, the Foose wheels have got to go.

POST 8Original post

Mark, I'm sure you're aware that a 997 engine won't just drop in... Also, I'd bet that the car on autotrader linked by Michael does have a sunroof, the guy listing it just didn't put that down. We also don't know the miles. That said, if it wasn't so far from me (well, and had some factory wheels) I'd be interested myself. Ahmet

POST 9Original post

my first question would be WHY does it need an engine and the second would be is that picture beore or after the reason it needs a new engine.....

POST 10Original post

Where is this? Atlanta? The shop that did my engine transplant and my buddies is there. They have a whole stack of busted M96 motors in the back from cars they have fixed.

Gosh, I've never heard someone question why a 996 would need a new engine! What before and after pictures are you referring to?
